Root Canal Therapy

Dear Patients,

I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather this summer. As an avid boater, this time of year is my favorite.

Many patients have queried myself and my staff about the “wallpaper” in the operatories. Actually all the rooms are painted by my good friend Wendy Salerno using a variety of techniques. You can contact her at 330-278-3716.

Root canal therapy is a very common procedure that has been performed in the U.S. for over 70 years. The success rate of root canal therapy is over 95%. Teeth may require root canal due to trauma, deep decay, or from a periodontal infection. During the procedure, the internal portion of the tooth (the pulp) is cleansed and shaped, at which time rubber cones are placed down the canal to provide a hermetic seal. After the tooth is root canal treated, it is necessary to build the tooth up with filling material (crown buildup). After it is recommended that the tooth be crowned or capped. I have personally performed over 6,000 root canals and can assure my patients that we can do the procedure painlessly due to a special injection technique.

If you or someone you love has a tooth that may require root canal therapy, contact our office for a no charge consultation.

Sincerely,

Michael W. Dagostino, DDS
