Wisdom teeth – Wise to remove?

Dear Patients,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! As we enter this festive season my staff and I wish all of you the most splendid holiday season full of friends, family, and the spirit of the season, “love”!

During the holiday season many of our college age students return home to celebrate. Many of these patients have 3rd molars also known as wisdom teeth. Much research has demonstrated these teeth to be vestigial organs, that is to say they do not assist in the masticatory process (chewing of food). Due to their potential for causing infection, and because most patients are unable to properly clean these teeth, our office recommends their removal. Generally we will sedate the patient (twilight sleep) and remove all four teeth in one visit.

Should you or someone you love desire to have their wisdom teeth evaluated, contact our office for a complimentary consultation.

Happy Holidays,

Michael W. Dagostino, DDS
